Atakum İlçesi'nin (Samsun) Kent Ekolojisinin Coğrafi Açıdan Analizi

Abstract

Kent, içerisinde doğal ve beşeri unsurları birlikte barındıran, beşeri unsurların doğal koşullardan etkilendiği ve doğal koşulları etkilediği bir insan ekosistemidir. İnsan kentin bulunduğu doğal koşullardan etkilenir ve yaptığı ekonomik faaliyetlerle kentin bulunduğu alanı şekillendirirken doğal unsurları etkiler. Kentin yerleşim alanında bulunan ekosistemde değişikliklere yol açar. Bu değişiklikler doğal koşullar ve doğadaki canlılar üzerinde genellikle olumsuz etkilere sebep olurken, yanlış ve plansız yapılan beşeri faaliyetler beraberinde olumsuz sonuçlar doğurmaktadır. İnsan ve çevre arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyen coğrafya ile canlı ve cansız çevre arasındaki etkileşimi inceleyen ekoloji biliminin birbirine en çok yaklaştığı alan olan kentsel ekoloji, şehirsel alanlarda sağlıklı ve yaşanabilir kısımlar oluşturma faaliyetlerinin bütünüdür. Kentsel ekoloji, şehirsel gelişmenin ekolojik olarak gerçekleştirilmesidir. Buradan yola çıkarak bu çalışmada çok hızlı bir yapılaşmaya sahne olan Atakum İlçesi'nin şehirsel alanı büyürken ekolojik unsurların söz konusu şehirleşmeden nasıl etkilendiği sorusu üzerinde durulmuştur. Böylelikle olumsuz etkilenen ekolojik unsurlar belirlenerek çeşitli çözüm önerilerinde bulunulmuştur. Hali hazırda korunan ekolojik özelliklerin zarar görmemesi için ne gibi tedbirlerin alınması gerektiği üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Coğrafi gerçeklerden uzak olarak gelişen şehirler büyük problemler yaşamaya mahkumdur. Bu çalışmada coğrafi gerçeklerden yola çıkarak şimdiye kadar meydana gelmiş ve gelecekte olabilecek muhtemel problemler üzerinde durulmuştur. Sahanın jeolojik ve jeomorfolojik özelliklerinin bölgedeki şehirsel alanı olumsuz etkileyecek hangi doğal afetlere yol açacağı üzerinde durulmuştur. İnsan, ekosistemi en çok etkileyen canlı unsurdur; fakat plansız gerçekleşen insan faaliyetleri sonucunda yaşanan problemlerden en fazla etkilenen unsur yine insandır. Yapılan bu çalışmada Atakum İlçesi'nin şehirsel yerleşim alanının doğal unsurlar üzerinde olumsuz sonuçlara yol açtığı görülmüştür. Bazı alanlarda yapılaşmanın coğrafi koşullara uygun olmadığı da gözlemlenmiştir. Atakum İlçesi'nin sürdürülebilirlik ve yaşanılabilirlik açısından, kent alanı genişlerken bu genişlemenin sahanın coğrafi ve ekolojik özellikleri açısından mevcut özellikleri korunarak gerçekleşmesi gerekmektedir. Human is affected by the natural conditions of a city and with his economic activities, affects the natural elements while shaping area of a city. Human leads to changes in the ecosystem of the city's residential areas. While these changes generally have negative effects on natural conditions and living creatures, wrong and unplanned human activities result in negative consequences. Urban ecology is the point where geography studying the relationship between human and environment, and ecology studying the interaction between animate and inanimate objects in the environment come closest to each other. The urban ecology can also be defined as the body of works which tries to create a healthy and liveable environment within current urban areas. In brief, urban ecology is planning of urban growth with an ecological approach. Starting from this point of view, in this study, it is emphasized on the question of how ecological elements are affected by the aforementioned urbanization while growing the urban field of Atakum District that witnesses rapid housing. Herewith, the ecological elements that are affected negatively are determined and various solutions are suggested. It is studied on what measures should be taken in order to prevent damage to the currently protected ecological characteristics. Cities developing far from geographical realities are obliged to have big problems. In this study, based on the geographical realities, it is emphasized on the problems that have occurred so far and the possible problems that might be in the future. It is emphasized what kind of natural disasters that will negatively affect the urban area in the region may trigger the geological and geomorphological features of the field. Human is the living element that affects the ecosystem mostly; however, the most affected element of the problems encountered as a result of unplanned human activities is once again human. In this study, it has been observed that the urban settlement area of Atakum District has negative consequences on natural elements. It has also been observed that the settlement is not suitable for geographical conditions in some areas. In terms of sustainability and liveability of Atakum District, while the urban area expands, this expansion should be actualized by preserving the existing features in terms of the geographic and ecological characteristics of the area.
