Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretiminde 5e Modeli Kullanımının Ders Başarısına ve Derse Karşı Tutumuna Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerin Sosyal Bilgiler dersi ' Yaşadığımız Yer' ünitesindeki konuların öğretiminde yapılandırmacı yaklaşım 5E Modeline göre hazırlanmış etkinliklere dayalı sürecin öğrencinin akademik başarısına ve Sosyal Bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumları üzerine etkileri incelemektir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak deneysel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada öğrenci başarısını ölçmek için Ünlüer (2008) tarafından geliştirilen 25 soruluk ' Yaşadığımız Yer Başarı Testi' uygulanmıştır. Tutumlarını ölçmek için Demir ve Akengin (2010) tarafından geliştirilen 'Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Tutum Ölçeği' kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemlerin çözümlenmesinde kontrol ve deney gruplarının sonuçları karşılaştırılmış, frekans, yüzde ve akademik ortalama kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın örneklemi 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılı Samsun Bayındır İlkokulundaki 4. Sınıf öğrencileri deney ve kontrol grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Toplam 59 öğrenci katılmıştır. Deney grubuna 5E Modeli dayalı, kontrol grubuna ise geleneksel yönteme yönelik etkinlikler kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre yapılandırmacı yaklaşım 5E Modelinin uygulandığı grubun kontrol grubuna göre akademik başarısının yüksek olduğu ve Sosyal Bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumda ise deney grubunun lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. The main goal of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the 5E model in teaching Social Studies Course in the unit 'The Place We Live In' in 4th grade of a primary school. It examined the effects of prepare exercises regarding academic achievement and course attitudes. The experimental method was used in this research. 'The Place We Lived in Achievement Test' (25 questions) which was developed by Ünlüer (2008) was used for measuring students' achievement. 'Social Studies Attitude Scale' which was developed by Demir and Akengin (2010) was used for measuring student's attitudes. Experimental and control groups' results were compared and frequency, percentage and mean was used while analysing the sub problems. The research sample was the students who were studying in 4th grade in Samsun Bayındır Primary School in 2014-2015 education year. There were totally 59 students in experimental and control groups. The exercises which were employed in experimental group were prepared with 5E model while traditional exercises were used in control group. According to the results, the experimental groups' academic achievement which was used 5E was higher than control groups' academic achievement and the attitudes regarding social studies course were significantly different in favor of the experimental group.
