Abstract

Nowadays, resin-based composites are the most popular restorative materials for posterior teeth due to improvements in matrix, filler and initiator technologies. Over the past few years, developments in the field of resin-based composites have brought bulk-fill composites to the restorative dentistry, and studies in this area are continuing. Bulk-fill composites have significant differences depending on filler amount, inorganic particle size and morphologies, monomer type and photoinitiator chemistry. All these differences have a significant effect on the depth of cure, degree of conversion, marginal integrity, biocompatibility, mechanical and physical properties of bulk-fill composites. The purpose of this study is to provide general knowledge about bulk-fill composites which are increasingly used clinically and to inform reader about in vivo and in vitro studies which are included in the literature. © 2021, Selcuk University.
