İlköğretim 8. Sınıf Öğrencilerinde Özdeşlikleri Modelleme Becerilerinin İncelenmesi: Origami ile Modellenmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın temeli 8. Sınıf da ?özdeşlikleri modellerle açıklar? kazanımına yöneliktir. Çalışma, origami kullanılarak hem cebir geometri ilişkisini daha net bir şekilde kurmak hem de cebirsel terim ve kavramların öğrenci zihninde daha net kurmasına yardımcı olmak amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma iki aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşamada amaç özdeşliklerde model kullanımının ne ölçüde kullanıldığını ortaya çıkarmak ve öğrencilerin bu noktada yaşadıkları sıkıntıları tespit etmektir. İkinci aşamada ise özdeşlikleri modellerle açıklama sırasında yaşadıkları sorunlar ışığında origami yardımı ile modeli uygulamak olmuştur. Çalışmada önce açık uçlu sorulardan alınan cevaplara göre alt problemler oluşturulmuş ve programda özdeşliklere ayrılan ders saati sürecince origami yardımıyla model uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra öğrencilerin her bir soruya yönelik yanıtları ön test ve son test açık uçlu soruları karşılaştırılarak sunulmuştur. Araştırmacı öğretmen yöntemini içermesi bakımından bir eylem araştırmasıdır. İki devlet okulunun 8. Sınıf öğrencileriyle yürütülen çalışma sonucunda elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Günlükler, açık uçlu sorulardan alınan yanıtlar ve origami görüş bildirme anketi bu çalışmada kullanılan veri toplama araçlarıdır.Çalışma sonunda elde edilen bulgular oluşturulan alt problemler ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Ön test sonuçlarına göre özdeşliklerin modellemesine dair eksik hatta çoğu zaman kullanılmayan modellerin origami ile işlenen ders sonrasında farklılaştığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Özellikle ilk başta cebir- geometri ilişkisini kuramayan öğrenciler origami ile farklı bir bakış açısı geliştirmişlerdir. Her ders sonrasında yazılan günlükler ise o derse ilişkin en önemli dönütler olmuştur. Çalışma sonrasında ayrıca cebir geometri ilişkisinin kurulması ile öğrenci bilgiyi kendi zihninde daha anlamlı hale getirmeyi başarmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda origami matematik eğitiminde çok fazla kullanılmadığından origami görüş bildirme anketi ile öğrenci görüşleri değerlendirmeye alınmıştır.ANAHTAR SÖZCÜKLER: Cebir, Model, Modelleme, Origami

The study depends the 8th grade objective which is that ' identities are explained by models'. The aims of using origami are forming the relations between algebra and geometry clearly and helping students form the algebraic terms and concepts in their minds clearly. This study consists two phases. Primarily, reveal what extend to uses of the model in identites, also determine the problems of the student at this point. In this study ,firstly, sub-problems were created according to the responses of open-ended questions and model was applied with help of origami during the lesson time which was allocated for the identities. Than, responses of the students for each question were compared with pre-test and post-test. Action research design was used in this study. The findings that were gotten after the study between two state school eighth grade students, were analyzed with analyse method. Dailies, responses of open-ended questions and origami survey are data collection tools in this study.Findings that we got from end of the study were evaluated in the light of sub-problems. Modellings which are missing even which are never used in the modelling of identities pre-test were differentiated after the lessons which were taugt with origami. Especially, students who could not create a relatıonshıp with algebra-geometry ,were improved diffrent kind of perspective. The dailies which written by the student after the each classes, were the most important equipments fort his class. Besides,after the study, student succeeded to make meaningful to information in their minds. Besides,origami is not used so much for mathmatics education,so opinion of the students were taken with survey which is about origami.Key Words: Algebra, Model, Modelling, Origami.
