2-Amino-4-Methyl­thio­phene-3-Carbo­nitrile

Abstract

The electronic and optical properties of 2-Amino-4-methylthiophene-3- carbonitrile were analyzed. 2-(2-Bromo-1-methylethylidene)malononitrile was dissolved in a solution of dioxane and absolute ethanol. The stirred solution was cooled to 273 K in an ice-salt bath, and a suspension of NaSH in 10 ml of absolute ethanol was then added dropwise over a period of 30 min. The displacement ellipsoids of non-H atoms were drawn at the 50% probability level.
