Çocuk Edebiyatında Ölüm Teması

Abstract

Çocuk edebiyatı eserleri ele aldıkları konularıyla bir anlamda çocuğu hayata hazırlama işlevi üstlenirler. Çocuklar bu eserlerdeki kahramanlarla kendilerini özdeşleştirir, hayatın acı ve tatlı gerçeklerini anlamaya çalışırlar. Bu gerçekler arasında ölüm de yerini alır ve çocukların bu acı olayı kavramasına, anlamasına yardımcı olunmaya çalışılır. Okuduğu hikâyelerde geçen ölüm olayları karşısında çocuk onu anlamakta çok zorlansa da yavaş yavaş anlamaya başlar ve artık eskisi gibi korku duymaz. Kimi eserlerde ölüm; sonsuz uykuya dalmak, hayatın tam ve kesin olarak sona ermesi, bazen bir mükâfat, ortadan kalkma, yok olma gibi değerlendirilirken kimisi de yeni bir hayatın başlangıcı, göğe yükselme, kurtuluş veya tanrının yanına sığınma olarak görülür. Bu açıklamalar karşısında ölüm hakkında bilgilenen ve onu hayatın bir gerçeği olarak kabullenen çocuk yaşama daha sıkı sarılır. Bu eserler hayatın tüm güçlüklerine karşın yaşam tezini daha canlı tutma amacını güder.

The Children Literature serves to prepare children for life with the themes it deals with.Children try to dentify themselves with the characters, and onderstand the good and bad sides of life in these works. Among these realities of life is there "Death", and it is aimed to to help them to comprehend this concept. Despite the fact that the child has difficulties in undeerstanding "Death" in the stories, he/she gradually starts to comprehend it adn feel no fear at the idea of death.In some works, wheras death is is portrayed as "eternal sleep", "ending of life", sometimes "an award", and "non-existence",in some works, it is described as "the new beginning of life", ascend to sky","liberation", and "Taking shelter beside "God". Under the light of these explainations, since the child is informed well about the idea of "Death", and the child sees it as the partb of reality of life. Consequently, these works aim to make life more meaningful inspite of the all difficulties of life.
