Tarihsel romanın eğitimsel işlevi üzerine bir çalışma: "diriliş" romanı örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, tarihsel romanın eğitimsel işlevini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya Amasya Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi 1. sınıfta okuyan ve Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılâp Tarihi dersini alan 140 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Deneysel desende yürütülen çalışma ile Turgut Özakman'ın eseri olan Diriliş romanını okuyan deney grubu öğrencilerinin başarıları, okumayan kontrol grubu öğrencileri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Öğrencilerin romanın ana teması ve dersin önemli bir konusu olan Çanakkale Cephesi Savaşları ile ilgili bilgilerinde, deney ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı fark olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Açık uçlu soruların analizi, romanın konuyu daha iyi anlaşılır kılmasının yanı sıra, öğrencilerde millî bilincin güçlenmesini sağladığını ortaya koymuştur.

The aim of this study is to introduce the educational function of historical novel. Totally 140 people, who are first class students at the Education Faculty in Amasya University and take the History of Revolution and Atatürk' s Principles course participated in this research. The study has an experimental design. The success of the students who read the novel named 'Diriliş ", by Turgut özakman is compared to the success of the students that did not read the book. At the end of the study, it was seen that there is significant difference between the experimental and the control group students' knowledge about the Gallipoli Front Wars, which is main theme of the novel and an important subject of the course. The analysis of the open ended questions has enabled us to gain a better understanding of the subject and sustained of the national consciousness among students.
