Belirli gün ve haftaların kutlanmasının sosyal bilgiler dersi açısından önemi ve öğretmen görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir ritüel olarak belirli gün ve haftaların sosyal bilgiler dersi açısından önemini ortaya koymak ve bu konuda öğretmen görüşlerini değerlendirmek için ortaokul sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin konuyla ilgili duygu ve düşüncelerini, sorunlarını ve bu süreci nasıl kullandıklarını açığa çıkarmaktır. Belirli gün ve haftaların sosyal bilgiler dersi açısından öğrencilere anlamlı öğrenme ortamları yarattığı bir gerçektir. Bu nedenle öğretmenlerin belirli gün ve hafta etkinliklerini süreçte nasıl kullandıkları ve bu konuda karşılaştıkları zorluklar tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışma İstanbul ili Arnavutköy ilçesinde bulunan 13 farklı ortaokulda görev yapan 30 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni ile gerçekleşmiş, temel nitel bir çalışmadır. Çalışma grubunun belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılara yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği uygulanarak belirli gün ve haftalara yönelik veriler toplanmış ve ses kayıt cihazıyla görüşmeler kayıt altına alınmıştır. Elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle analiz edilip derinlemesine incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda belirli gün ve haftaların kutlanmasının sosyal bilgiler dersi konularının öğrenilmesini kolaylaştırarak derse ilgiyi arttırdığı, dersin amaçlarının gerçekleşmesine yardımcı olduğu ve öğrencilerden beklenen olumlu davranışların kazandırılmasında önemli düzeyde etkili olduğu gibi sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır.

This research aims to reveal the importance of holidays and special days and weeks to celebrate as a ritual in terms of social studies courses and to reveal the feelings and thoughts of secondary school social studies teachers about the subject, their problems, and how they use this process to evaluate the views of teachers on this subject. It is a fact that celebration days and weeks create meaningful learning environments for students in terms of social studies courses. For this reason, it has been tried to determine how teachers use certain day and week activities in the process and the difficulties they encounter in this regard. The study is a basic qualitative study that was carried out with 30 social studies teachers working in 13 different secondary schools in Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. Maximum variation sampling methods, which is purposeful, was used to determine the study group. By applying a semi-structured interview technique to the participants, data for certain days and weeks were collected and the interviews were recorded with a voice recorder. The obtained data were analyzed by a descriptive analysis method and examined in depth. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that the holidays and special days and weeks facilitates the learning of the social studies course topics, increasing the interest in the course, helping the realization of the objectives of the course, and being significantly effective in gaining the positive behaviors expected from the students.
