Abstract

Febril seuzires, requiring urgent treatment are an important group of diseases since they cause anxiety in families and hav ethe risk of recurrence. Febrile seizures are commonly seen in children aged 6 months to 5 years (2-5%). In generally, the prognosis of febrile seizures is good and intellectual defiency and neurological damages are not be observed in children. Only a small minority of children go on to become epileptic. In treatment of febrile seizures anticonvulsant and antipiretic treatments applied while having fewer are recommended in stead of long-lasting ontikonvulsant treatment. For this reason, families should be furnished with the required information on urgent therapy of febrile seizures.
