3-Anilinoisobenzofuran-1(3H)-one

Abstract

Crystals of the title compound, C14H11NO2, are stabilized by an intermolecular N-H (...) O hydrogen bond and a weak pi-pi interaction. N-H (...) O hydrogen-bond interactions generate C(6) chains. The phthalide section of the molecule is planar and the dihedral angle between the phthalide group and the benzene ring is 78.43 (5)degrees.
