Abstract

As in all other specialties of medicine, the discipline and specialty of family medicine was developed upon need. With this article, our aim was to review family medicine by its key features including definitions and the history. So that family medicine, depending on the basic principles like continuous, comprehensive, coordinated health-care access, will be understood easier.
