2-[(4-Methoxyphenyl)iminomethyl]-4-nitrophenol

Abstract

The title Schiff base compound, C(14)H(12)N(2)O(4), is in an intermediate state between NH and OH tautomers. Apart from the intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond, there are intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, generating centrosymmetric R(2)(2)(18) and R(2)(2)(14) dimers.
